Assistant General Counsel in Africa at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Walid Labadi said the IFC focuses on improving the business environment for SMEs and this is challenging in Egypt.
Labadi made the remarks on Monday while addressing the first Egypt Business Solutions Summit.
“When I think of SMEs, I think of What challenging time people have in this respect, especially with regard to having access to needed finance,” he said.
Labadi said the IFC also focuses on working with banks and mirco-finance institutions, referring to the IFC’s most successful experience of working with CIB, especially in the green finance area.
Labadi lauded the efforts exerted by young men to have successful businesses, highlighting the successful digital business examples like Vezeeta.
He commended Egypt’s leadership position in Africa.
