ADCB-Egypt launches several initiatives to help disabled persons engage into banking mechanism
The Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt (ADCB-Egypt) announced launching a new comprehensive vision for financial inclusion targeting disabled persons in the Egyptian community within the context of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
This coincides with the International Day of Sign Languages.
The bank is a pioneering institution aiming to merge handicapped people into the banking mechanism.
ADCB-Egypt CEO Ihab El Sewerky said the bank has adopted a number of initiatives to get various social categories engaged into the banking mechanism and empowering them economically.
This is part of the bank’s ambitious vision to play an effective role in serving society and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
These initiatives promote the financial inclusion plans of the Central Bank of Egypt and go in line with state’s strategy and Egypt Vision 2030 on supporting handicapped people as indispensable part of the society.
The bank has trained its customer service employees on dealing with sign language and provided this service in all the bank’s branches nationwide. This initiative is the first of its kind in Egypt.
The bank has also offered banking documents for blind customers in Braille Code to be able to deal with the bank without being in need for help from anyone.
As for people suffering from movement problems, the bank also secured wheel chair ramps to help disabled customers get all needed banking services easily.
These initiatives were launched after the bank held a plenary meeting with a number of handicapped persons to stand on their needs to get banking services and available solutions to help them.
The bank managed to achieve outstanding success in this file in a short period that did not exceed one year – since the launch of the bank’s trademark in Egypt.
