Attijariwafa Bank will issue its first sustainability report later in June and it was worked out in tandem with DCarbon, Head of the bank’s Structured Finance & Public Sector Marwa Nabil said.
She made the announcement on Monday during the third edition of the Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy – which is organized by CSR Egypt under the patronage of Premier Moustafa Madbouli.
The bank contributed to the Ras Gharb wind farm, she said, noting that the bank has been keen to be part of several key projects in Egypt.
The bank was also engaged with the state in a huge project for superseding diesel oil with solar energy in the New Valley governorate.
She noted that the bank also contributed to Very Nile which is a sustainability initiative for cleaning up the Nile River.
She added that the bank also participated in the first green economy forum with welcoming bags which were made of cotton to replace plastic bags.
This fell within the framework of efforts to ban single-use plastic bags, she noted.
