SAIB has signed an agreement with DHL Express Egypt to implement GoGreen Plus, a service designed to reduce the carbon emissions associated with international shipments.

The partnership comes as the bank seeks to strengthen environmental sustainability across its operations amid growing foreign trade activity by its customers in 2026, which has increased the volume of the bank’s international shipments with DHL Express Egypt.

Cutting carbon footprint of international shipments:

Through DHL Express GoGreen Plus, SAIB will help lower the carbon footprint of its international shipments by using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), supporting the transition to cleaner logistics solutions.

“We are proud to announce the signing of GoGreen Plus with our customer SAIB, marking another important step toward reducing supply chain emissions and driving sustainable business practices,” DHL Express Egypt said in a Facebook post.

“Through DHL Express GoGreen Plus, SAIB is actively contributing to lowering the carbon footprint of its international shipments by using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), supporting the transition to cleaner logistics solutions,” it added.

SAIB CEO and Managing Director Atef Naguib said sustainability is a key pillar of the bank’s strategy, adding that the partnership with DHL Express Egypt represents an important step toward reducing the environmental impact of the bank’s international shipping operations.

He said achieving sustainability goals requires collaboration with strategic partners, noting that GoGreen Plus supports the shift toward more efficient and environmentally responsible practices in line with global efforts to accelerate the green transition and reduce carbon emissions.

Naguib added that the bank continues to focus on improving the quality and efficiency of its services while aligning its operations with global efforts to build a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy.

DHL expands sustainable logistics solutions:

DHL Express Egypt Country Manager Ossama Ibrahim said the company is proud to support SAIB in adopting more sustainable logistics practices through GoGreen Plus.

“Egypt is one of DHL’s strategic markets,” Ibrahim said, citing the country’s strong links between Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, as well as its growing role in regional and global trade.

He added that sustainability is becoming increasingly important to how companies compete, grow, and strengthen their connections to international markets.

DHL Express continues to invest in solutions that help customers reduce the environmental impact of their supply chains, including across the Middle East, Ibrahim said.

The company recently signed a long-term agreement to purchase Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Bahrain, marking the first agreement of its kind in the Middle East, he added.
