Oman’s BankDhofar cops ‘Excellence Award for CSR Initiatives and Programs’

The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility bestowed the “Excellence Award for CSR Initiatives and Programs” on Oman’s BankDhofar in appreciation of its role as one of the leading financial institutions in the field of CSR.

Ahmed Said Al Ibrahim, General Manager & Chief Corporate Services Officer at BankDhofar, received the award during a high profile function that was held in Dubai.

The event was attended by representatives from various prominent institutions and dignitaries from the Arab world.

The event highlighted the achievements of the winning organizations from various Arab countries.

Upon receiving the award, Al Ibrahim of the BankDhofar said: “We are very delighted to have been recognized with this prestigious award, which attests to our efforts in CSR initiatives. At BankDhofar, we are always keen to make positive difference in the community we operate in through our strategic CSR programs. The bank also exerts strenuous efforts to ensure that its CSR allocations reach needy people.”

The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility is a non-governmental organization established to conduct researches and studies about the nature of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Arab region, and the goals that can be achieved by spreading this culture within Arab societies. It also works towards highlighting the role of CSR in achieving sustainable development in the fields of environment, tourism, economics, agriculture and manufacturing. The organization works with ministries and public institutions in the Arab region to establish international standards for CSR in the region and encouraging local institutions to participate in international conferences and seminars on the latest standards for CSR the world over.

BankDhofar is commitment to launching sustainable CSR programs, initiatives, activities and potential investment opportunities in order to ensure lasting positive benefits aimed at strengthening ties with the local community.

The bank provides support to a number of charitable organizations, social activities and initiatives.

BankDhofar contributed with OMR 1 million to support affected families due to cyclone Mekunu in Dhofar and Wusta Governorates.
