Nahla Kamal, Head of Corporate Affairs at Nestle Egypt, said the governmental support is the main catalyst for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in partnership with the private sector.
She commended the role played by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Administrative Reform to promote partnership with the private sector.
She made the remarks during a session – under the theme of “one goal one world” – held within the framework of the Arab Sustainable Development Week. The session was moderated by CSR Arabia CEO Hassan Moustafa.
She said the private sector should have a strategic vision to attain the SDGs.
She said Nestle company has a strategy for attaining SDGs in Egypt, noting that the company focused first on the treatment of weight loss, anemia and obesity. The company launched a project in tandem with the National Research Center and the Health Ministry to improve nutrition in Egyptian villages. Several authorities and companies, including Juhayna, contributed to the project. The company came to promote its nutritional products with vitamins and supplements which children in Egypt need. The move is meant to underline the concept of citizenship through supporting the state and people.
