Perfetti Van Melle India (PVMI) has partnered with Trash to Cash, an NGO that works towards providing people with ‘special abilities’ quality education and employment opportunities. Through the joint initiative titled ‘Parishram’, the organization aims to create a scalable and sustainable model to incentivize reuse of unutilised packaging material and help augment earning & employment opportunities for differently abled individuals.
To address the specific plastic waste issue, PVMI will be working with Trash to Cash by extending technical support and sharing best practices for better value realization from reusing MLP. PVMI will through, Trash to Cash, be associated with people with special abilities and to convert boxes, bags, and office stationery and essential items of everyday use out of ordinary & unused packaging material.
Launch of Parishram also coincides with PVMI’s winning Zee Business-National CSR Leadership Congress & Awards [Best Community Development Award] for its consistent initiatives in improving quality of education and by providing necessary infrastructure support; provision of drinking water to a school and village in Chennai and providing access to water- by laying down water pipes in a village near Manesar, and for serving communities by supporting an orphanage, by providing medical aids & assistance, by creating awareness on issues like Aids and general hygiene etc. aimed at uplifting community welfare in general.
The CII – National Awards for Excellence in Water Management 2019’ in the category ‘Within the Fence’ comes as a recognition for all its plants for their endeavours towards conscious efforts made for water management & conservation in general and with Rudrapur plant getting awarded for taking outstanding measures in this field, both at operational as well as technological level.
