The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited youths from international and UAE universities to participate in the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and the 4th Dubai Solar Show – due to be held in October – with their innovative ideas which could serve sustainability.
The events will be held under the umbrella of the Green Week due to be held in Dubai on October 21-23. The Green Week includes various environmental activities and events to raise awareness about the importance of conserving energy resources and promoting sustainable development.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX, said over 20 universities can take part in the events, stressing support for youths who can join the sustainability drive with their innovative ideas.
Moreover, DEWA has also invited local and international companies and organizations specialized in energy, renewable energy, water, and environmental affairs , to participate and display their products and services at WETEX and the 4th Dubai Solar Show. Companies can benefit from the opportunities offered by the UAE and the region, and review key projects and investments that will be announced at the two exhibitions.

The exhibition has established itself as the largest and most important specialized exhibition in the region in water, energy, and the environment. It has become a major global event and a key platform that brings together exhibitors, visitors, experts, specialists, decision-makers, and investors in these vital sectors. It is an opportunity to make use of the great investment opportunities as well as meet with experts and decision makers from all over the world,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

WETEX 2019 will have on display the latest tools and equipment, including turbines, compressors, motors, power generators, air cleaning and purification equipment, batteries, high-voltage cables, wiring technologies, calibration measurement equipment, protection systems, centrifuge machinery, communication equipment, industrial and residential control systems, safety equipment, refrigeration and heating, diesel engines, fire-fighting and safety systems, transducers, control electronic systems, energy-efficient home appliances and other products.
At WETEX 2019, visitors can review the latest technologies in water treatment, desalination plants, pipes of all kinds, coolers and heaters, and related products and solutions. It will also display tools, equipment and accessories for digging technologies, pumps, valves, and tools to ease pressure and others. WETEX will show the latest advances in irrigation systems, agriculture and horticulture equipment, and water extraction equipment. With a focus on water conservation, WETEX will showcase products for detecting and treating water leakages, reservoir lining, and various materials used in the water sector and water transportation.
