As a part of CSR programme, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has taken the initiative to provide access to clean drinking water to at least 3,000 individuals in Koliwali village. SPN, in partnership with Naandi Foundation, inaugurated its 24 community water centre at Koliwali village in Bhiwandi Taluka. The water centre is expected to provide access to clean drinking water to around 750 families in the village, media reported.
Always aimed at empowering communities and working for the betterment of the society, SPN and Naandi has been able to provide access to clean drinking water to 1.5 lakh individuals in Kolhapur, Sangli and Thane districts of Maharashtra.
This initiative is one of the many steps taken by the network to support the creation of a sustainable environment. SPN is committed to co-creating India’s social development agenda through its focus on various areas of social impact.
“SPN is proud to partner with Naandi Foundation for making clean drinking water available across certain parts of Maharashtra, through its corporate social responsibility programme. We aim to help improve the lives of people who don’t get access to a necessity like water,” said Rajkumar Bidawatka, Head CSR, SPN.
Harshad Atkari and Mayuri Wagh, prominent actors from the Sony Marathi channel, along with other local authorities were also present at the occasion to support and educate the habitants of the village.
