Investment min. witnesses signing of MoU between Cyprus university, ECG for training engineering faculties’ students
Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr witnessed the inking of a memorandum of understanding between Cyprus’ Neapolis University and the Engineering Consultants Group (ECG) within the framework of the “University to Work” initiative, a commendable corporate social responsibility overture aimed at enhancing the qualifications of graduates of engineering schools.
NUP Rector Professor Pantelis Sklias and ECG Vice President Dr. Nevine Abdel khaleq signed the memo in Cairo in the presence of Nikolaos Sarlis, the Special Project Advisor of the Leptos Group and Aliki Potonou, the Founder and CEO of GAMMA INVEST and NUP representative in Egypt as well as senior officials of the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation.
The memorandum, in addition to the exchange of know-how and information, enables University of Neapolis students to participate in ECG actions worldwide.
It also provides opportunities for University to Work graduates to participate in Neapolis University programs, on privileged terms.
About 570 students at Egyptian engineering faculties are expected to benefit from the initiative.
Since launching the initiative in 2010, about 5500 students managed to claim a corner in the engineering market inside and outside Egypt, ECG Vice President Niven Abdel Khaleq said.
Abdel Khaleq noted that talks tackled means of establishing an NUP branch in Egypt to draw on European expertise in various domains.
She added that the talks touched on launching a new initiative for training graduates from various faculties, especially the faculty of commerce.
NUP Rector Professor Pantelis Sklias said the memo offers 33 scholarships for post-graduate studies at NUP in fields related to the engineering domain.
