Fourth year students of the Faculty Of Mass Communication, Cairo University, launched a survey among more than 2,000 university students on their opinion about whom they see as the ambassadors of happiness in Egypt.

The campaign was organized under the auspices of Head of public relations and advertisement department Dr Iman Gomaa as well as Dr Hayat Badr and Lamia Ahmed of the same department.
Gomaa said ” the survey conducted by the university students on ‘the ambassadors of happiness’ is the first of its kind. The survey was meant to stand on the students’ vision about the concept of happiness and the figures whom they believe to be a source of happiness.”
The survey will in turn send a positive message to those due to be named as “the ambassadors of happiness” that they are really appreciated, she said, adding that this will represent a motive for them to exert more efforts to draw more smiles on the faces of Egyptian people.
The students who worked on the campaign were keen to underline that making people happy was not costly. The students organized several activities, including distributing simple gifts like sweets and hot drinks.
In addition, they visited a school of handicapped children and distributed simple gifts like toys, coloring books and sweets.
The campaign was launched one month ahead of the International Day of Happiness which falls on 20th of March.
