Terilla for transportation and services launched the first heavy-duty vehicle powered by natural gas in Egypt and the Middle East.
Heavy-duty vehicles – which operate by natural gas in lieu of diesel oil – have many privileges topped by being eco-friendly with low-carbon emissions in addition to halving fuel consumption.
Terilla Chairman Mahmoud Qandil said the new vehicles were originally manufactured to operate by natural gas. These vehicles were tried in several European countries and proved to be efficient.
Qandil added that these vehicles will help save hard currency in Egypt as it has large reserves of natural gas.
He noted that the company agreed with the Social Fund for Development to secure 20 vehicles for youths to help generating jobs.
The company launched the natural gas-powered heavy vehicle during the first exhibition for the vehicles’ clean energy conversion and replacement technologies – which opened today and will last for three days.
This step will promote Egypt’s efforts to expand use of natural gas-powered vehicles.
