The United Bank launched UB Carnival initiative under the slogan “encourage your country’s industry” with an aim to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Under the initiative, the bank organized a series of exhibitions and marketing convoys for SMEs’ products in the bank’s 63 branches in various Egyptian governorates.
Ashraf El Kady, Chairman of The United Bank opened the UB Carnival alongside a cluster of the bank’s leaderships, including Farag Abdul Hamid, Deputy Chairman, Nevine Kashmiry, Deputy Managing Director of Business Sectors, and Moataz El Qasaby, Deputy Managing Director of Credit Risk Sector.
Participating SMEs owners presented previews about their products and offered good discounts for employees of UB, its affiliated companies as well as other banks.
Commenting on UB Carnival Initiative, Ashraf El Kady said the UB Carnival initiative is meant to activate the bank’s social role and support small and medium sized enterprises in line with the strategies adopted by the Egyptian State and the Central Bank of Egypt.
El Kady stressed that the UB Carnival marketing convoys will tour various Egyptian governorates to promote the Egyptian products which enjoy good quality and tap new markets for them, adding that the initiative is also meant to market for small, medium and micro enterprises, especially for competitive products such as St. Catherine products and the Egyptian countryside.
Meanwhile, Germeen Amer, head of the bank’s corporate communications department, said about 15 companies took part in the UB Carnival with Egyptian-made products at special prices, including St. Catherine products, Egyptian countryside products, medical and sun glasses, silver products, clothing and knitting products, women’s accessories, bags and leather products, food, kitchen supplies, detergents, furniture, lighting tools, and cosmetics.
Amer said the bank’s pioneering initiative includes organizing mobile marketing convoy every month in one of the Egyptian governorates which houses one of the 63 UB branches in order to promote Egyptian products of small, medium and micro enterprises.
UB Carnival has witnessed a high turnout of visitors, especially women, from the United Bank staff, its subsidiaries and the number of fellow banks.
Amer added that UB Carnival is attended by a number of talents and handicapped from The United Bank team to showcase and market their products. This is within The United Bank’s policy to enhance the spirit of belonging and opening new horizons for the talented employees to practice their talents on a larger scale.
