Media Avenue will hold its first roundtable on ‘Investing in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development’ on September 24.
The roundtable is meant to tackle several topics regarding the private sector and the government’s vision on means of accelerating renewable energy growth and turning Egypt into a clean energy producer.
The roundtable will also highlight available investment opportunities in the fields of electricity and renewable energy as well as the role of various regulators in creating opportunities for expanding renewables’ production and luring more Arab and foreign companies to invest in Egypt’s energy sector.
A cluster of government officials and CEOs of companies working in solar projects in Benban in the Upper Egypt governorate of Aswan, in addition to experts in electricity and the renewable energy sector.
Speakers will address the challenges besetting the energy sector, the government’s plan to purchase energy from the private sector in light of the availability of electricity reserves, and Egypt’s vision for development as well as the strategy for diversifying energy resources.
They will also discuss ways of securing incentives and legislations to give momentum to the renewable energy sector as well as the private sector’s experience in producing and selling electricity directly to consumers in addition to the economic operation of the electrical system, and load management.
The General Manager of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), Mohammed El-Khayat is scheduled to take part in the roundtable alongside Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) Sabah Mashaly, Chief Investment Officer at Infinity Solar Taymour Aboul Kheir, and Founder and Chairperson of Enara Group Sherif El Gabaly.
