Nestlé Egypt seeks to achieve sustainable nutrition and is working on sustainability plans in order to realize zero carbon emissions by 2025, said Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for Nestlé Egypt Mahira Hassan.
Hassan added that the company is also pursuing the goal of 100 percent recycled packaging by 2025.
She made the remarks during the second session under the title of “green financing products and the importance of technical support to ensure sustainable impact”.
The session is part of the 5th Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy which is organized by CSR Egypt under the theme of Green DNA “Sustainable Finance and Impact Investment”.
She noted that the company launched Dorna project with an aim to promote collecting and recycling plastic in Egypt.
The project was implemented in tandem with the Environment Ministry, PayMob and CID Consulting, she said.
She said Egypt has a great chance in waste recycling domain, noting that investments are needed in this score.
She highlighted the need for state support as well as relevant law endorsement.
She added that the company seeks to support youths’ innovative ideas through cooperation with emerging companies as youths are the hope of the future.
