President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed to allocate additional EGP 1 billion government support for the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW) to promote social activities.
The measure is taken within the framework of the president’s declaration of 2022 as the year of civil society.
The president’s decision will also support ongoing efforts to ensure social protection of most needy citizens.
This came during the president’s meeting with Prime Minister Mosutafa Madbouli and General Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel.
Heads of civil society organizations – that are members at the NACDW – attended the meeting.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the meeting reviewed the alliance’s activities since its launch earlier this year.
The president voiced appreciation to the social activities of the alliance which groups 24 civil societies in addition to Decent Life Foundation and the General Federation of NGOs.
The president gave directives to upgrade charity and development efforts of the alliance to expand from just offering direct assistance to creating jobs and increasing production, thus having a positive economic impact.
