Vodacom is using digital technology and connected healthcare solutions to help modernize Egypt’s healthcare system, as part of a broader push to improve efficiency, reduce delays and simplify patient experiences across hospitals. By working with partners to digitise medical records and connect healthcare facilities, the company is supporting faster access to information and more integrated healthcare services across the country.
Part of the Vodafone Group, Vodacom said the initiative reflects its strategy of combining global technology expertise with local market needs to deliver practical digital services across Africa.
Vodacom said outdated healthcare systems previously made it difficult for hospitals to efficiently access and manage patient information, creating operational delays and fragmented services.
Through digital record systems and improved connectivity between healthcare facilities, the company is helping create a more connected healthcare network aimed at improving access to care and reducing waiting times for patients.
The company added that digitized systems are also helping healthcare professionals manage information more effectively and streamline daily operations.
Beyond Egypt, Vodacom highlighted other technology-driven projects across its African markets focused on improving essential services and supporting local businesses.
In South Africa’s city of Tshwane, the company is supporting smarter water management by combining connected sensors, community reporting and real-time monitoring systems to help authorities detect network issues faster and reduce water loss.
In Kenya, Vodacom’s M-PESA platform is helping small businesses simplify payments and financial management. Nairobi-based Elixir Executive Barbershop, for example, uses the platform to replace cash handling and manual processes with mobile-based payment and tracking systems.
Vodacom said its projects are designed around solving everyday challenges for customers and communities, with a focus on building reliable and accessible digital services.
The company added that stronger digital connections are not only about technology infrastructure, but also about improving how people access healthcare, manage businesses and interact with essential services.
