Alexandria University tops 47 Egyptian entries in UI GreenMetric 2026

Alexandria University topped 47 Egyptian universities included in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2026, ranking 180th globally among 2,016 institutions across 110 countries.

October 6, Sohag universities follow:

October 6 University ranked second among Egyptian entries and 220th globally, followed by Sohag University in 245th place and Benha University in 253rd place. New Mansoura University ranked 286th globally, while Beni-Suef University and Ain Shams University came 392nd and 468th, respectively.

Ranking focuses on sustainable campuses:

The 17th edition of the ranking covers 2,016 institutions across 110 countries, making it the largest global university ranking system dedicated to assessing institutional sustainability performance.

This year’s edition introduces the theme “Advancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalization, and Integrated Performance.”

UI GreenMetric said it will continue to encourage greater participation from universities worldwide, fostering a collective commitment to building sustainable campuses for the future.
