UNIDO’s General Conf. in Abu Dhabi to focus on SDGs

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO ) will hold its General Conference in Abu Dhabi on November 3 through 7 under the theme of “Industry 2030 – Innovate. Connect. Transform our Future.”

Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) is UNIDO’s innovative vision on how to promote and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, as well as the other 16 SDGs, in order to attain the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In addition to its policy making function, the General Conference will highlight successful partnerships and technical cooperation achievements, also through an interactive exhibition that will focus on today’s most relevant topics for UNIDO Member States, including Gender, Circular Economy, Youth and Entrepreneurship, Industry 4.0, Industrial Parks, and Sustainable Energy. Seven different thematic hubs with innovative formats will be featured that will offer a full-immersion experience to all participants.

For this special occasion, hundreds of participants will gather from all over the globe – including Heads of State, ministers and high-level government officials, senior representatives from UN organizations, prominent leaders from the private sector, civil society and academia.
