The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized this week a training course on basic food hygiene for some 100 internally displace people within the framework of efforts to develop South Sudan’s agro value chains.
Another 20 local government officials took part in another training course on good practices for quality and safety of food.
Seiji Okada, Ambassador of Japan to South Sudan, welcomed the participants. The training course was part of the project titled “Enhancing social stabilization and cohesion through supporting agro value chain development in South Sudan” which is being funded by the Government of Japan.
The project supports agro value chain development in the country and aims to create income generation for internally displace people, as well as enhance the preparedness and knowledge on food safety by local quality institutions and government organizations.
