Sawiris Foundation, partners celebrate new school year with 1,100 children in care

Sawiris Foundation, in partnership with Ora Developers, Star Care for Childhood Development, Majid Al Futtaim/Carrefour Egypt, and Samusocial International Egypt, brought together around 1,100 children from 14 care homes at its annual “Back to School” event at ZED Park in Sheikh Zayed City.

Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the event marked the start of the new academic year with a day of entertainment featuring games, interactive activities, artistic performances, and the distribution of school bags and school supplies.

Entertainment, activities:

The event was attended by Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Permanent Undersecretary and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

The program included a musical performance by Egyptian artist Mostafa Amar, who entertained the children as they took part in the celebrations marking the start of the new academic year.

Growing participation:

Launched in 2021, the “Back to School” event initially brought together around 400 children from six care homes.

The Foundation has since expanded the event’s reach, increasing both the number of participating children and care homes.

Supporting children:

The event reflects the efforts of Sawiris Foundation and its partners to provide children in care with positive experiences and support their well-being and sense of appreciation and belonging.

Through recreational and community-based activities, the initiative provides an opportunity for children to celebrate the start of the academic year in a positive environment, while highlighting collaboration between civil society organizations and the private sector in supporting children and contributing to an improved quality of life.
