Hala Abdel Wadoud, the head of the public relations and corporate social responsibility department of Orange company, said Orange focused on developing health services and education; empowering women and youths; and promoting entrepreneurship.
She stressed that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are integrated in the company’s strategy.
She made the remarks during a session – under the theme of “one goal..one world” – which was held within the framework of the Arab Sustainable Development Week in Cairo. CSR Arabia CEO Hassan Moustafa moderated the session.
The company operates in 160 countries and has 160,000 employees worldwide.
The company established five manufacturing labs beside universities for about 5,000 students in various governorates to work there, she said, adding that Fablabs – powered by Orange – support about 250 companies.
Orange also established social schools which group students of different ages who failed to join the educational process for certain circumstances.
Orange has established seven social schools in collaboration with Misr El Kheir in addition to digital schools.
