Liverpool FC and 1PointFive are using direct air capture technology to address emissions from a new range of fan products, expanding their collaboration on lower-carbon merchandise.

The new range includes an improved Mighty Red teddy and a new product, Red Ted, building on the success of a commemorative jersey launched last year to mark the 20th anniversary of Liverpool’s 2005 Champions League victory in Istanbul.

Addressing product emissions:

Under the collaboration, 1PointFive’s direct air capture technology will remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere equivalent to the amount generated from manufacturing the two products through the point of sale.

The initiative expands the companies’ work to support Liverpool FC’s sustainability journey through The Red Way, the club’s sustainability program.

Sustainable retail:

The collaboration also reflects Liverpool FC’s expanding retail portfolio, which includes apparel, collectables, gifts, and lifestyle products.

Lee Dwerryhouse, Senior Vice-President of Merchandising at Liverpool FC, said the partnership allows the club to create products that resonate with supporters while supporting its commitment to exploring innovative and more sustainable retail opportunities.

Anthony Cottone, President and General Manager at 1PointFive, said the collaboration demonstrates how direct air capture solutions can be integrated into product offerings while advancing sustainability goals in a measurable and verifiable way.

Expanding fan offering

Liverpool FC has more standalone retail stores than any other club or franchise in world sport, alongside its recently launched e-commerce platform.

The club continues to develop new ways for supporters around the world to engage with the Liverpool FC brand.
