Largest social protection campaign launched in 16 governorates

The National Alliance for Civil Work for Development announced the go-ahead of the largest social protection campaign “Shoulder-to-Shoulder” in sixteen Egyptian governorates as the holy fasting month of Ramadan is looming.

The campaign is launched in 16 governorates; namely Cairo, Giza, Qaliobiya, Gharbia, Monofiya, Sharqiya, Daqahliya, Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira, Alexandria, Ismailia, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Sohag, Luxor and Aswan, the alliance said in a statement on Friday.

Under the campaign, over one million food packages will be distributed among needy people in the aforementioned governorates in addition to 160,000 meals and 30,000 pieces of clothes among needy families in these governorates.

Also, lanterns will be distributed among children to put a smile on their faces.

The campaign goes in line with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi which called for supporting vulnerable people.

It is worth mentioning that the alliance was set up in March 2022 after President Sisi declared 2022 as the year of civil community.
