Faculty of Medicine of Mansoura Univ. issues its first carbon footprint assessment

The Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University has taken a significant step towards environmental sustainability by issuing its first carbon footprint assessment with the help of experts from the Egyptian Carbon Center (ECC).

This initiative showcases the university’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment and promoting eco-friendly practices within the medical community.

By measuring and analyzing its carbon emissions, the faculty can now develop targeted strategies to minimize its environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable future.

The Egyptian Carbon Center (ECC) was founded to address greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Egypt and to help Egyptian organizations reduce their carbon footprints by implementing proper frameworks to measure and manage GHG emissions from their operations.

The center’s generated carbon footprint reports are generated in formats suitable for Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) for one’s jurisdiction and other compliance reporting needs.

The first step of any organization’s sustainability journey or carbon management program is to gain an independent & thorough understanding of its current green-house gas (GHG) emissions. The center’s carbon footprint business appraisals provide a comprehensive assessment and identify current major emission sources and opportunities for savings in the future.
