Elsewedy Electric inaugurated a new subsidiary office in China as it seeks to expand cooperation in the energy sector and build on more than 20 years of partnerships with Chinese companies.
The company’s cooperation with Chinese partners spans power and electrical equipment, new-energy storage, technology transfer, water treatment and desalination, and general machinery, as well as supply chains supporting engineering and infrastructure projects.
Expanding energy partnerships:
The new office will provide a platform for Elsewedy Electric’s expansion in China, with plans to increase local procurement, develop joint-project opportunities, and strengthen technical exchanges.
It will also support supplier development, quality control, and cross-border project coordination, helping strengthen the Group’s global supply chain and international operations.
Connecting China, Egypt:
Ahmed Elsewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, said China is an important part of the Group’s global growth strategy, both as a center of industrial capabilities and as a market for long-term partnerships and innovation.
“Establishing a permanent presence allows us to build on our existing cooperation and develop deeper strategic partnerships,” Elsewedy said, adding that the company sees significant potential to connect Chinese businesses and investment with opportunities in Egypt.
Sherif Elaish, General Manager of Elsewedy Electric China, said the expansion would further strengthen industrial and investment ties between China and Egypt.
He highlighted Egypt’s established industrial infrastructure, skilled and competitive workforce, and ongoing policy support for foreign investment, saying these factors position Egypt as a competitive investment, manufacturing, and trading hub for Chinese enterprises seeking to establish a regional base, access new markets, and expand internationally.
Supporting global growth:
Through its presence in both markets, Elsewedy Electric aims to strengthen cross-border industrial cooperation and create new opportunities across energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
The company said the expansion will support the Group’s continued global growth.
