EgyptAir Ground Services strengthens environmental standards With ISO 14001
EgyptAir Ground Services has secured ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management, alongside international certifications for quality and occupational health and safety, as it strengthens its sustainability and environmental management practices.
The three certifications were presented to the company during the 2026 El Alamein International Airshow in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El Hefny, EgyptAir Holding Chairman Ahmed Adel and EgyptAir Ground Services Chairman Khaled Atwa.
Strengthening environmental management:
The ISO 14001:2015 certification covers the company’s environmental management system, while the other two certifications cover quality management under ISO 9001:2015 and occupational health and safety under ISO 45001:2018.
The certifications were issued by TÜV AUSTRIA after the company successfully completed an integrated assessment, review and audit with no observations or recommendations.
El Hefny said the certifications reflect EgyptAir Ground Services’ commitment to international standards in environmental protection, quality, and occupational health and safety.
He said the achievement goes beyond meeting international requirements, reflecting an integrated management system based on clear standards for quality, safety and sustainability.
Embedding sustainability:
The minister said the Civil Aviation Ministry continues to support its affiliated companies in upgrading management and operating systems in line with international standards and practices.
Such efforts, he added, aim to strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian aviation companies while supporting their expansion into regional and international markets.
EgyptAir Ground Services Chairman Khaled Atwa said environmental protection, alongside quality and safety, is a key pillar of the company’s operations.
He added that the certifications demonstrate employees’ commitment to international standards and support the company’s efforts to develop its services and improve operational efficiency as it pursues further growth.
Raising industry standards:
Ahmed Adel said the internationally certified management systems would help improve operational efficiency, service quality and customer confidence, while strengthening EgyptAir’s competitiveness and ability to meet the evolving requirements of the global air transport industry.
The certifications add to EgyptAir Ground Services’ efforts to align its operations with internationally recognized management and environmental standards as the aviation sector continues to focus on more sustainable operations.
