Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development has partnered with Samusocial International Egypte to improve living conditions, expand digital learning and support early childhood education for vulnerable children in Cairo.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony hosted by the French Embassy in Egypt and attended by French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier. Signatories were Jean-Pierre Trinelle, chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation, and Géraldine Samir Tawfik, director and country representative of Samusocial International Egypte.
Three-pronged support program:
The partnership covers three areas: improving living conditions and hygiene at two shelters; establishing two computer labs to provide children from five shelters with access to basic digital learning; and supporting early childhood education for children under six through appropriate learning environments, educational materials and developmental support.
Chevallier said the partnership would help improve shelter conditions while expanding access to early childhood education and basic digital skills, translating a shared commitment into tangible opportunities for children facing poverty and homelessness.
Trinelle said empowering children and young people was central to the foundation’s work, adding that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting their social reintegration.
Tawfik said partnerships, particularly with the private sector, are essential to providing comprehensive care for excluded people and strengthening their long-term prospects for social, professional and family integration. She added that the initiative would provide essential hygiene and educational materials to shelters while helping children prepare for long-term reintegration.
Building on existing partnership:
The foundation’s relationship with Samusocial International Egypte began several years ago through its sponsorship of Les Printemps des Artistes, an annual artistic and charitable event supporting street children and young women in Cairo.
Established in 2017, Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development is the bank’s social development arm. It works across four pillars: health, education, social entrepreneurship, and environment and community development, partnering with specialized organizations to improve healthcare, combat poverty, empower young people and advance environmental protection.
