Cairo International Airport wins ACI Africa Environment, Sustainable Development Award 2023

Cairo International Airport has been named as the winner of ACI Africa Environment and Sustainable Development Award 2023 in the category of large-sized Airports in the African continent, as part of the ongoing sustainable efforts of Ministry of Civil Aviation headed by Civil Aviation Minister Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas.

Members of the ACI jury have been impressed with the quality and dedication in implementing an environment management system and efforts to maintain sustainable development at the airport.

Eng. Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, Chairman and CEO of Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, congratulated the employees for their efforts to achieve this award.

He said the company adheres to all needed measures to protect the environment and sustainable development, highlighting the ongoing efforts for greater reliance on clean sources of Energy and rationalization of energy consumption.

The award ceremony was held during a gala dinner on the fringe of the 70th session of ACI Africa Conference and Exhibition in Dakar, Senegal, from 14 to 20 October 2023 . Egypt – as an elected member of the ACI among 15 members representing African Airports – is participating in the event through the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation.
