Al Ahram Beverages Company (ABC) has launched a new hospitality training track aimed at helping 200 women across Greater Cairo gain the skills and employment opportunities needed to build careers in Egypt’s growing HORECA sector.

Developed in partnership with the Gozour Foundation under the ABC Hospitality Academy, “Her Mark in Hospitality” combines specialized vocational training, accredited certification and job placement support, with at least 80% of participants targeted for employment through direct partnerships with hotels and restaurants.

200 Women to join:

The launch phase will target women aged 25 to 40 from Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia, equipping them with technical, professional and employability skills for careers across the hospitality industry.

Training will cover five disciplines: Food & Beverage Service, Professional Coffee Barista, Bakery Artisan, Pastry Chef and Garde Manger, or cold kitchen.

Participants will also receive food safety and hygiene training, career readiness and soft skills development, as well as interview preparation and job placement support.

Those who successfully complete the program will receive accredited certification from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.

80% job placement target:

The Gozour Foundation will work directly with hotels and restaurants to create employment opportunities for participants, with a target of placing at least 80% of the women in jobs.

The program is designed to move beyond training by connecting participants with employers and providing a clear pathway from skills development to employment.

Tourism growth drives demand:

The initiative comes as Egypt’s tourism sector continues to expand. The country welcomed 6.1 million visitors in the first four months of 2026, following a record 19 million visitors in 2025, according to ABC.

Egypt aims to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2030 and expand its hotel capacity to 300,000 rooms, increasing demand for skilled hospitality workers.

“Through ABC Hospitality Academy and Her Mark in Hospitality, we are helping strengthen the hospitality talent pipeline by connecting training with accredited certification and real employment opportunities,” said Nikolay Mladenov, Managing Director at Al Ahram Beverages Company.

5,000+ professionals trained:

The launch marks the first anniversary of the ABC Hospitality Academy, which was established to strengthen professional capabilities and service standards across Egypt’s HORECA sector.

Over the past year, the Academy has trained and certified more than 5,000 HORECA professionals across more than 110 venues in seven governorates.

Developed in partnership with Rhythm Hospitality Training Consultancy and accredited by the UK Institute of Hospitality, the Academy supports the continued development of hospitality professionals and the competitiveness of Egypt’s HORECA industry.

Expanding women’s economic opportunities:

The new track builds on ABC’s partnership with Gozour Foundation, which began in 2024 and has supported more than 12,000 women artisans and female heads of households across Egypt through initiatives focused on vocational skills, economic resilience and sustainable livelihoods.

Through “Her Mark in Hospitality,” the partners are extending that work into the hospitality sector, creating new pathways for women to enter the workforce and build long-term careers.

As the ABC Hospitality Academy enters its second year, the initiative is expanding its focus beyond capability building to include employment, women’s economic empowerment and broader social and economic impact.
