The first Jordanian national MOST School for capacity-building activities will kick off in Amman on July 29 under the theme of “Addressing Inequalities and Urban Inclusion in Jordan”.
The two-day event is organized by UNESCO and the University of Jordan (UOJ) with an aim to strengthen competencies for evidence-informed decision-making.
The event is organized within the context of UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Program.
This MOST School proposes to develop the capacity of young researchers and policy stakeholders in policy and action-oriented research and dialogue to support long-term sustainable development.
It will include a mixture of panel discussions on cutting-edge research and actions on the ground and two workshops on applied development policy research, leading to a recommendation and identification of further collaborative policy research dialogue in Jordan.
MOST Schools are capacity-building activities focused on strengthening the competencies for evidence-informed decision-making in Member States. They help develop the capacity of researchers and decision-makers to translate knowledge into action. Their primary goal is to support long-term sustainable development in contexts where capacity gaps may be a major constraint to translating research into action.
