Launching a sustainable initiative for supporting micro businesses and a sustainable educational platform came at the top of the recommendations issued by the 11th CSR Forum.
Sonaa Al Khair Foundation for Development will put the micro enterprises initiative into effect in Giza governorate through establishing the first complex for handicraft industries and micro enterprises.
The initiative will gradually reach other governorates in order to encourage and empower women and youths and promote the concept of entrepreneurship.
The forum also recommended the launch of the sustainable plus platform which is the first educational platform for children aiming at entrenching the concepts of sustainable development and promoting their awareness of state development projects.
The forum also underlined the importance of issuing legislations that incentivize private sector and institutions to increase financial allocations to support development projects.
The forum also called for channeling domestic and foreign financing into supporting small and medium sized enterprises which work on reducing carbon emissions and curbing the negative impact of climate change.
The forum also urged establishing an educational fund to offer scholarships under the condition that students would pay a monthly sum of money after finalizing the scholarship in order to ensure the sustainability of the this fun.
The forum was held under the theme of “Sustainability from Adoption to Localization..Path to Recovery” in order to support the state efforts and offer a chance for all parties concerned – like Ghabbour Group, Telecom Egypt (WE), Vodafone Egypt, Decent Life Foundation, and Sonaa Al Khair Foundation for Development – to engage in effective partnerships that would accelerate the recovery process and push forward the wheel of development in order to secure decent life for all Egyptian citizens.
The forum focused this year in addressing key questions about localizing the sustainable development goals and the best mechanisms that can help realize tangible outcome for people, countries and companies. It also tackled means of handling problems of development financing and recovery financing resources as well as the best financial tools for confronting climate change and standards for selecting projects and ideas that deserve to be bankrolled.
The forum was held under the auspices of the ministries of planning, social solidarity, trade and industry, youth and sports, environment and manpower.
A group of experts and officials from the aforementioned ministries took part in the event alongside a cluster of Egyptian and foreign businessmen and top officials of international financing institutions, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
CEO of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt Ayman Soliman participated in the forum alongside more than 12 Egyptian banks, including the National Bank of Egypt and the Commercial International Bank (CIB).
More than 58 national companies, including Telecom Egypt (WE), in addition to 200 experts and figures interested in the forum. Also, more than 500 development entrepreneurs attended the forum.
