Ten Egyptians have been named among Forbes Middle East’s 2026 Top Healthcare Founders and Shareholders, accounting for one-fifth of the 50 entries on the regional list.
Egypt ranked third by representation, behind the UAE with 18 entries and Saudi Arabia with 13, according to Forbes Middle East.
The list recognizes healthcare founders and shareholders whose ownership, investment and leadership are shaping the region’s healthcare sector.
10 Egyptians on the list
The Egyptian entries include Riad Armanious of EVA Group, Sherine Helmy of Pharco Pharmaceuticals, Mahmoud Abdel Gawad and Omar Abdel Gawad of Ibnsina Pharma, Hend El Sherbini of Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH), Heba El Sewedy of Ahl Masr Foundation and Burn Hospital, Magdy Elba of APEX Pharma, Mohamed Mostafa of PDC, Mahmoud Farrag of Parkville, and Mazen ElMenshawy of Manapharma.
EVA Group expands regionally:
Riad Armanious, founder and CEO of EVA Group, is among the Egyptian names featured. Forbes highlighted EVA Group’s plans to build a $120 million research and manufacturing complex in Saudi Arabia, as the company expands its regional healthcare footprint.
Healthcare leadership across sectors:
The Egyptian names span pharmaceuticals, healthcare distribution, diagnostics, hospital care, medical services and healthcare manufacturing, reflecting the breadth of Egypt’s healthcare business ecosystem represented on the list.
Forbes said its methodology considered factors including company size, the leader’s stake, industry impact, innovations and achievements, sector experience, operational diversity, transparency, and sustainability and CSR initiatives.
