Moustafa Zamzam, the head of the Second Egypt Business Solutions Summit, said small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) secure about 75 percent of job opportunities in Egypt and represent 80 percent of the gross domestic product.
He made the remarks during the opening session of the Second Egypt Business Solutions Summit which kicked off on Monday under the theme of “Fill the Gap” with the participation of Ministers Yasmine Fouad of Environment and Soha Gendi of Emigration.
Zamzam highlighted the importance of addressing the challenges facing SMEs in light of their major contribution to combating terrorism.
Zamzam said the summit focuses on mechanisms of accelerating economic growth amid current challenges, topped by financial and legislative gaps.
The summit also reviews promising investment opportunities and introduces incentives to boost investment in the coming period.
