Michael Yap, Group CEO and Deputy Chairman of Azeus Systems Holdings Ltd., said artificial intelligence (AI) will have a major impact on companies’ management of their environmental and social goals within the coming five years.
He asserted that achieving sustainability requires integrating advanced tools and technologies.
Yap made the remarks during the first session of the 15th Egypt CSR and Sustainable Development Forum (Egypt CSR Forum) under the theme of “How Can Digital Products control and boost the Environmental and Social Performance of Companies?”.
He said environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting has not been easy; it requires companies to be deeply committed to preparing such kind of reports in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals frameworks.
It took years to develop such kind of reports, he added.
He explained that preparing these reports faces major challenges, however it became a exigency not only globally but also locally, emphasizing that this journey requires non-stop efforts by all stakeholders to achieve productive and sustainable results.
Yap highlighted that effective company management cannot occur without a robust accountability system to monitor performance toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He accentuated that every company should be committed to measuring and tracking its impact as part of its sustainability strategy.
