Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi said 300 new eco-friendly buses will be available during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) which will be held in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh in November.
He made the remarks on Monday in a speech on his behalf by his assistant Khaled Qasim during the 4th Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy which is organized by CSR Egypt under the theme of “From Vision to Implementation.”
The ministry is working on several axes to implement green projects,Shaarawi said, referring to the use of new green buses and applying a mechanism for replacing diesel oil with natural gas.
Shaarawi reviewed the projects carried out by the ministry to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
He noted that the ministry implemented an integrated mechanism for waste management in collaboration with the Environment Ministry.
