Hassan Moustafa, the CEO of the 12th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (12th CSR Forum), said sustainability standards form the basis for any successful business that aims to achieve profit.
During a session on civil society on the fringe of the 12th CSR Forum, Moustafa said the CSR Egypt platform was established to be an interactive platform for all development players instead of working as isolated islands. This is meant to realize integration between the civil society, the government and the private sector.
Therefore, people can stand on the efforts exerted on the ground to achieve sustainable development, he highlighted.
He added that the civil society in Egypt is the main driver for achieving the sustainable development goals in direct or indirect ways, such as distributing food boxes, protecting people from winter cold, and securing decent housing.
Any effort aiming to achieve development is meant to serve the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, he said, referring to the Egypt Vision 2030 which is based on the national goals.
“We see how Egypt can benefit from foreign experiments to come up with innovative solutions to address the challenges besetting the country and this is the reason behind the success of a business model,” he said.
