CEO of CSR Egypt Hassan Moustafa – the head of the third edition of the Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy – underlined the importance of launching an “alliance” initiative to support the private sector to realize sustainable development.
At the end of the forum, Moustafa also called for launching an e-platform for companies and entrepreneurs to remove the obstacles hampering their transition to the green economy.
He also called for forming a committee comprising the private sector, the government and the civil society to support the private sector to achieve sustainable growth.
He underlined the importance of diversifying sustainable financing methods of small and medium sized enterprises, including expanding the issuance of green bonds.
Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad opened on Monday the third Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy which was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
The forum – under the theme of “Sustainable Financing and Green Investment” – aimed to create opportunities and effective partnerships among the parties concerned and those interested in achieving sustainable development in the country in addition to giving a push to the shift towards green economy and circular economy in order to face future risks.
The forum represented an interactive platform for the parties concerned with green growth to discuss various issues related to realizing green recovery and accelerating sustainable economic growth efforts in various sectors.
The forum also addressed means of creating opportunities in the fields of recycling, sustainable agriculture, and clean energy.
The event also tackled the challenges besetting the achievement of these goals as well as means of implementing the Egypt 2030 Vision and magnifying the benefit of Egypt’s potentials.
