Kyrmanidou: Companies need to be informed on financial sustainability, its impact on their business
Anastasia Kyrmanidou, Ph.D., Senior Sustainability Analyst at Kermadia, highlighted the importance of informing companies about financial sustainability and how this affects their operation and business.
She made the remarks during the 13th CSR and Sustainable Development Forum which is organized by CSR Egypt. The event opened on Thursday in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada.
Kyrmanidou expounded that Keramida is a leading provider of sustainability, environmental, health and safety, and remediation consulting and engineering services.
Kyrmanidou said the company has a lot of clients across many different sectors and it offers sustainability services for them and transition plans in addition to helping them identify the material source needed for sustainability reporting and contextualize and understand different reports in this regard.
It is important issue how to standardize a framework or lay down standards of sustainability reporting so the company also helps clients in this regard, she said.
Climate change comes as number one on the agenda of sustainability reporting, she said, highlighting the importance of standing on how the company or organization affects the environment and society.
There are a lot of standards and frameworks for sustainability reporting, Kyrmanidou noted, expounding that these reports help identify the problematic areas for companies.
She added that sometimes companies work on these reports because they want to advance.
