WE: Education, health at core of company’s sustainable development strategy
Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Sector of Telecom Egypt (WE) Naglaa Noseir said education, health, social development and youth and women empowerment are at the core of the company’s sustainable development strategy.
She made the remarks on Monday during the 10th annual Forum for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development – known as CSR Forum – which was held under the theme of “Responsible Investment Gate for Recovering and Overcoming Crises.”
The company also backed daily workers during the coronavirus crisis through distributing 62,000 food packages nationwide, she said.
The company also collaborated with “Himaya” or “Protection” initiative of Sona3 ElKhair Foundation where 500 packages of sanitizers and masks were distributed in 204 orphanages in 23 governorates, she added.
The company also contributed to the one million advice campaign which was very important during the coronavirus crisis as it facilitated communication between patients and specialized doctors via its website, she said, noting that it was hard for patients to go to hospitals at this time.
The company also secured personal protection equipment (PPE) for doctors and offered mobile phones in addition to recharge cards for medical teams in isolation hospitals.
The company also enhanced distance learning mechanism through providing additional capacity of internet packages by 20% during the study suspension period.
WE also secured a free digital platform for various curricula of schools and universities.
