Vodafone Egypt contributed EGP 500 m to social development projects

Ayman Essam, the External Affairs and Legal Director in Vodafone Egypt, said Vodafone Egypt contributed about EGP 500 million for social development projects from which 11 million Egyptians.

During the 12th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (12th CSR Forum), Essam said companies cannot work alone to realize comprehensive development in communities, but all parties concerned should join forces to serve this goal.

He noted that more than 50 percent of rural inhabitants work in the agricultural sector and this has prompted Vodafone Egypt to search for smart solutions to facilitate irrigation via mobile phones through connection with the internet of things (IoT), thus contributing to improving the quality of crops.

Vodafone Egypt Foundation launched an educational platform offering digital content of school curricula in addition to providing schools with internet services to have an integrated mechanism of online education.

Vodafone Egypt is a key partner in the new health insurance program as it secures developed technological solutions that can help people nationwide with an aim to develop the community and improve citizens’ life via digital transformation technology.
