The Ministry of International Cooperation will launch “Egypt – International Cooperation Forum (ICF): Engaging for Impact”, on September 8-9, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The event will witness a high-level international and regional participation.Several economic and social institutions will take part in the Egypt-ICF alongside bilateral and multilateral development partners, such as the United Nations, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
Moreover, African, Asian, and Latin American Ministers and policy makers will participate in the event alongside presidents of international financial institutions; bilateral and multilateral development partners’ representatives; think tanks; the private sector; and international and regional research centers.
The two-day forum will bring together the global community to promote efforts for a better tomorrow and to identify the parameters of sustainable recovery.
The forum will also organize engaging panels and workshops.
Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Mashat stated that the forum marks Egypt’s first international cooperation and development financing forum; reflecting the country’s leading role in international cooperation amidst global and regional stakeholders.
The minister further elaborated that holding Egypt-ICF reflects the belief of the political leadership and President Sisi in the importance of unifying countries’ efforts towards achieving inclusive and sustainable development for all, especially in emerging and developing economies. This underlines Egypt’s efforts towards pushing for development cooperation in a harmonized manner.
Mashat also noted that this forum underscores the importance of harnessing opportunities and deepening partnerships in order to achieve sustainable development, which opens the door for a strengthened dialogue between countries, financing institutions, and development partners.
The two-day forum will highlight the significance of multilateralism, with an emphasis on Egypt’s keenness on ‘building back better’ in emerging and developing economies.
