Dr Fazlul Haque is working as Deputy Representative of UNICEF Egypt with responsibility to lead and manage the UNICEF Country Programme in Egypt. He has 33 years of experience in the developmental field, with over 27 years with UNICEF. Dr Haque started his career with UNICEF in March 1991 and worked in several countries of South Asia, Central Asia, West Africa and Middle East at various capacities of UNICEF in programme planning, management, monitoring and coordinating with development partners including donors, NGOs and other UN agencies. He has diverse experiences of working in least developed countries, middle income countries, conflict and post-conflict countries including countries with complex emergency.
Dr Haque led large country teams of UNICEF and managed Programme in Ebola crisis and Ivorian Refugee crisis in Liberia and a very large ‘back to school’ Programme in a very complex environment and established the new concept of Community-based schools in Afghanistan to promote girls’ education.
Dr Haque has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with a bachelor and a Master’s degree in Education. He has a certificate in Education from the University of New England, Australia and completed ‘Senior Leadership Development Programme’ from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, England, UK.
