{"id":97626,"date":"2024-05-08T01:05:37","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T22:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=97626"},"modified":"2024-05-08T01:05:39","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T22:05:39","slug":"gafi-credit-agricole-egypt-sign-mou-to-attract-fdis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/gafi-credit-agricole-egypt-sign-mou-to-attract-fdis\/","title":{"rendered":"GAFI, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt sign MoU to attract FDIs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hossam Heiba, CEO of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/egypts-gafi-wins-oco-global-innovation-award-in-esg-category\/\"> General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)<\/a>, and Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Managing Director of Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on collaborating to support GAFI\u2019s strategy to attract foreign direct investments (FDIs) to Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hossam Heiba emphasized GAFI\u2019s keenness to cooperate with Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt, given its crucial role in attracting foreign investors to Egypt through Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Group\u2019s international network serving individuals and investors in 46 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This aligns perfectly with the Egyptian government&#8217;s plan to increase European investments. The plan will be launched through the Egypt-EU Joint Investment Conference, scheduled for the end of the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Under the MoU, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt will continue its efforts to introduce more global clients to support growing business opportunities in Egypt. The bank\u2019s role will focus on liaising between the Authority and the Bank\u2019s global clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt will assist GAFI in organizing meetings with the bank\u2019s client abroad that are interested in Egypt\u2019s growing business potential, driven by the country\u2019s economic diversification, strategic location, vast consumer market, and national mega-projects, such as the New Administrative Capital and the Suez Canal Economic Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As per the memorandum of understanding, GAFI will provide foreign investors with comprehensive information on investment opportunities in Egypt, which include priority target sectors in line with the government\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hossam Haiba stressed on the government\u2019s deep belief in the important role financial institutions network plays in stimulating investment in various sectors. This coordinated effort will help creating a more sustainable business environment in Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During the signing ceremony, Jean-Pierre Trinelle said \u201cThis MoU confirms Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Egypt\u2019s commitment to develop a closer cooperation with GAFI in order to support the Authority\u2019 strategy to accelerate economic development in Egypt, attract more Foreign Direct Investment and bring even more global clients to Egypt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Group is the tenth largest bank in the world, third largest in Europe and market leader in France.
