{"id":97315,"date":"2024-04-24T12:21:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T10:21:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=97315"},"modified":"2024-04-24T12:21:52","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T10:21:52","slug":"50bn-sdg-targeted-investment-proposals-at-sdg-investment-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/50bn-sdg-targeted-investment-proposals-at-sdg-investment-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"$50bn SDG-targeted investment proposals at\u00a0SDG Investment Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Over\u00a0100 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/undp-official-we-have-ambitious-moonshot-to-promote-1-trln-investments-for-sdgs\/\">SDG-<\/a>aligned projects\u00a0 with a total investment scope of\u00a0$ 50 billion<em>\u00a0<\/em>have been presented during the <a href=\"https:\/\/financing.desa.un.org\/what-we-do\/other\/SDG-investment-fair\/sdg-investment-fair-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024 Sustainable Development Goals Investment Fair<\/a> (SDG Investment Fair) which is held on April 23 through 25 at the United Nations headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The SDG Investment Fair provides a platform for connecting investors, private and public institutions, and UN representatives to build collective action to reach&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\">the 2030 SDG Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>&nbsp;through concrete investment opportunities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Launched in 2018, the SDG Investment Fair has evolved from an annual event to a year-round platform. The Fair\u2019s principal component involves organizing 1-2 annual events, which enable countries to present investment projects that advance their SDG Agenda directly to potential investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The\u00a02024 Fair features dedicated\u00a0networking sessions\u00a0for direct interaction between high-level government officials attending\u00a0the\u00a0ministerial meetings and private investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.\u00a0The\u00a0agenda will also include presentations of SDG-aligned investment projects and substantive discussions on developing\u00a0more bankable\u00a0SDG investment\u00a0pipelines and recent innovations in financing approaches<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During the inauguration of the forum, EIB Group President&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eib.org\/en\/about\/governance-and-structure\/statutory-bodies\/management-committee\/members\/nadia-calvino\">Nadia Calvi\u00f1o<\/a>&nbsp;said \u201cToday\u2019s SDG Investment Fair provides a platform to see how to mobilize the necessary investment to reach our ambitious goals, engaging the energy, capital and creativity of the private sector.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s not just a matter of catalyzing the private sector. The private sector is mobilized. It is very interested in how to deepen our partnership and ensure we can reach the necessary investments for these very ambitious goals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cPrivate sector mobilization is very high on the radar of the world\u2019s multilateral development banks.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Actually, mobilizing private investment is one of the five concrete actions that we discussed, that we agreed to move ahead with during the Spring Meetings,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Another promising area is to expand and share data on risks and opportunities in emerging markets.
