{"id":94949,"date":"2024-01-30T20:07:32","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=94949"},"modified":"2024-01-30T20:07:35","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:07:35","slug":"eib-allocated-e49-bn-for-climate-action-environmental-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/eib-allocated-e49-bn-for-climate-action-environmental-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"EIB allocated \u20ac49 bn for climate action, environmental sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/eib-earmarks-e20-4-bn-for-sustainable-development-projects\/\">European Investment Bank (EIB)<\/a> allocated \u20ac49 billion for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eib.org\/projects\/topics\/climate-action\/index\">climate action<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eib.org\/projects\/topics\/climate-action\/environmental-sustainability\">environmental sustainability<\/a> in 2023, up from \u20ac38 billion in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With \u20ac349 billion of green investment supported since 2021, the EIB Group is on track to achieve the goal of \u20ac1 trillion of green financing supported by the end of the decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The EIB earmarked \u20ac87.85&nbsp;billion of new financing for high-impact projects in areas including climate action, sustainable infrastructure, and healthcare in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The bank earmarked \u20ac20\u202fbillion to support small businesses and mid-caps, \u20ac19.8 billion for innovation, digital and human capital, \u20ac21.3 billion for sustainable cities and regions, and \u20ac26.8 billion for sustainable energy and natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Moreover, the Bank\u2019s 2023 investments included more than \u20ac21 billion as part of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eib.org\/projects\/topics\/energy-natural-resources\/energy\/repowereu\">REPowerEU<\/a>, an initiative designed to reduce Europe&#8217;s dependence on fossil fuels and accelerate the green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The EIB\u2019s total financing in 2023 is expected to mobilize around \u20ac320 billion in investment to support 400,000 companies and 5.4 million jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;The EIB Group is boosting European competitiveness and EU leadership in green technologies.
