{"id":91810,"date":"2023-10-11T13:07:17","date_gmt":"2023-10-11T10:07:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=91810"},"modified":"2023-10-11T22:48:08","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T19:48:08","slug":"eib-earmarks-e400-m-in-new-financing-to-czech-smes-mid-caps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/eib-earmarks-e400-m-in-new-financing-to-czech-smes-mid-caps\/","title":{"rendered":"EIB earmarks \u20ac400\u00a0m in new financing to Czech SMEs, mid-caps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The European Investment Bank (EIB)\u00a0 has signed an agreement with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csas.cz\/en\/personal-finance\">\u010cesk\u00e1 spo\u0159itelna<\/a> &#8211; the oldest and largest Czech bank \u2013 on allocating \u00a0\u20ac400 million in new financing to Czech <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-to-extend-100-m-loan-to-egypts-banque-misr-to-back-msmes\/\">small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)<\/a> and mid-caps.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The agreement is expected to help improve access to finance for local companies. Up to 50% will be used to finance Czech mid-caps, with the remainder devoted to SME lending.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The project is therefore also expected to have a significant impact on employment in the country by facilitating favorable lending for the real economy at a time of high interest rates and tight financial conditions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In line with EIB priorities, some 80% of the newly available financing promotes EU\u00a0Cohesion Policy by targeting less developed regions and transition regions, thus helping to reduce regional inequalities. In addition, at least 20% of the financing is earmarked for climate action projects to combat, mitigate or adapt to the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cSMEs and mid-caps play an important role in the Czech economy, in terms of both value creation and employment. Still, these companies don\u2019t always have access to the financing they need \u2014 a situation that was made worse by the pandemic and high inflation,\u201d commented\u00a0EIB Vice-President\u00a0Lilyana Pavlova. \u201c\u010cesk\u00e1\u00a0spo\u0159itelna is a historical partner for the EIB in the country, and we are very happy to build on our partnership with them, especially since this will help make important financing available to cohesion regions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201c\u010cesk\u00e1\u00a0spo\u0159itelna has grown to become the largest provider of loans to companies in the Czech\u00a0Republic.
