Fifteen Egyptian universities were placed on the 2024 QS World University Rankings<\/a> which feature 1,500 institutions across 104 locations and focus on employability and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Cairo University came at the top of the Egyptian universities on the rankings, occupying the 371th position, followed by the American University in Cairo which ranked the 415th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Ain Shams University ranked 721-730, followed by Alexandria University (901-950), Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) (1001-1200), Assiut University (1001-1200), Future University in Egypt (1001-1200), Mansoura University (1001-1200), Al Azhar University (1201-1400), British University in Egypt (1201-1400), German University in Cairo (1201-1400), Helwan University (1201-1400), Suez Canal University (1201-1400), Tanta University (1201-1400), and Zagazig University (1201-1400).<\/p>\n

AASTMT is the sole university which was not included on the 2023 QS World Rankings, but all the aforementioned universities were on the list.<\/p>\n

Moreover, six of the Egyptian universities on the 2023 QS World University Rankings<\/a> copped bronze sustainability medals for their environmental impact.<\/p>\n

The six universities are Cairo University<\/a>, Ain Shams University<\/a>, Alexandria University<\/a>, Mansoura University<\/a>, Tanta University<\/a>, and Zagazig University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

About 2024 QS World Rankings:<\/h4>\n

The 2024 QS Rankings have implemented its largest-ever methodological enhancement, introducing\u00a0three new metrics; Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network.\u00a0The results draw on the analysis of 17.5m academic papers and the expert opinions of over 240,000 academic faculty and employers.<\/p>\n

Massachusetts Institute of Technology celebrates twelve years at the top, the University of Cambridge retains 2nd place while the University of Oxford (3rd) climbs one position.<\/p>\n

This 20th edition of QS Rankings comes at a time when priorities in higher education are evolving. QS sits in the privileged position of being a nexus point in the higher education sector \u2013 connected to millions of students, hundreds of thousands of academics and employers, and thousands of institutions worldwide.<\/p>\n

QS Rankings have seen the focus of these different stakeholder\u2019s shift in response to wider trends in education and society, and to reflect this collective intelligence in its QS performance insights,\u00a0 have incorporated three new indicators into the QS World University Ranking.<\/p>\n

Sustainability has become a touchpoint for global institutions as they come to realize their impact on the world, and students have come to expect institutions to tackle issues related to social and climate justice.<\/p>\n

The QS International Student Survey 2022 found that 80 percent of students think universities could do more for the environment. This is reflective of a wider trend of younger students who advocate strongly for social and environmental activism.<\/p>\n

The rankings have recognized this call to action by adding a five percent weight Sustainability lens to our flagship world ranking, the first of the major rankings to do so to reflect the crucial role universities play in charting the course and driving change towards a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

The QS Rankings have also continued to strengthen its insight on employability and remain the only major ranking to enshrine the importance of employability in its methodology. To do this, the rankings have boosted the weight of Employer Reputation to 15 percent and added Employment Outcomes at five percent.<\/p>\n
