Raiffeisen\u2019s Croatian subsidiary will earmark funds for green projects.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This represents the first ever international bond issuance by RBA and will be listed on Luxembourg Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This is the EBRD\u2019s fifth purchase of a senior preferred bond eligible\u00a0under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.srb.europa.eu\/en\/content\/mrel\">European Union\u2019s Minimum Requirement for own funds and Eligible Liabilities<\/a>\u00a0(MREL) issued by a local financial institution in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/croatia.html\">Croatia<\/a>, and its third purchase related to RBA.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The two previous EBRD investments were in privately placed RBA bonds issued under the same MREL-eligible program; \u20ac39 million on 4 November 2021 in an issuance of \u20ac130 million, and \u20ac60 million on 30 September 2022 in RBA\u2019s first sustainability bond issuance, totaling \u20ac200 million.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">EBRD Director for Central Europe, Victoria Zinchuk, said \u201cWe are very happy to be one of the anchor investors in this first international public issuance by Raiffeisenbank Croatia. This successful international placement will further expand the overall pool of investors in the Croatian banking sector. We are very pleased to be part of this success story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The new funding will help RBA achieve regulatory compliance, diversify its funding base and increase its loss-absorption capacity and crisis resilience. The proceeds will also further promote the EBRD\u2019s green agenda in Croatia.
