{"id":86535,"date":"2023-04-03T14:28:36","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T12:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=86535"},"modified":"2023-04-03T14:28:36","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T12:28:36","slug":"feis-csr-initiative-to-bolster-egypt-vision-2030-to-achieve-sdgs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/feis-csr-initiative-to-bolster-egypt-vision-2030-to-achieve-sdgs\/","title":{"rendered":"FEI\u2019s CSR initiative to bolster Egypt Vision 2030 to achieve SDGs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fei.org.eg\/index.php\/en\/\"> Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI)<\/a>\u2019s initiative on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/csr-chairman-smes-key-catalyst-for-localizing-sdgs\/\"> Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR<\/a>) is meant to bolster \u201cEgypt Vision 2030\u201d to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2050 National Strategy for Climate Change.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The initiative is the first of its kind and is meant to promote the private sector\u2019s contribution to development efforts, according to a statement by the FEI\u2019s Environment Compliance and Sustainable Development Office.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The FEI launched the overture within the framework of its efforts to improve economic and social conditions in local communities and provide better investment climate for the private sector.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Chairman of the FEI\u2019s Environment Compliance and Sustainable Development Office Sherif Gabaly said having a powerful business community helps to achieve social development and secure decent jobs, thus contributing to improving living conditions in the Egyptian community.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">He added that this also can help realize gender equality and provide safe working environment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Gabaly said industrial entities and companies should not be looked at as economic facilities only, but as institutions that have a role to play in society.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Under CSR, business entities act positively towards society, launch voluntary initiatives and work on improving the conditions of some targeted groups through strategic and sustainable activities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Gabaly underlined the importance of the social role and ethical commitment of industrial companies towards the communities in which they operate.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">He explained that playing this social role positively affects companies, especially with regard to upping revenues and production.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Gabaly said committing to CSR has promoted companies\u2019 credibility, and firms\u2019 came to be aware of the importance of CSR over the past period.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Egypt has a large number of outstanding models of private sector companies, which have sought to play a major role in improving living conditions in societies.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Eng.
